Inject colour into the New Year

Wednesday, December 31, 2014

Lots of people tend to go for a dark and sultry look for New Years Eve but we believe in liner flicks, bold lips and glitter tips to see in 2015!

Inject colour into the New Year..

Always start by creating a flawless complexion as your base. Find a foundation that is right for your skin type, whether it is dry, oily or combination. One of our favourites is the !nvisible Radiance fluid foundation from Daniel Sandler. It feels as light as a feather on the skin and comes accompanied with a complimenting shade of creamy concealer to disguise any under-eye darkness of blemishes you have incurred from the festive party season! It is fab having the two in one, avoiding the chore of hunting down the perfect match to your base. Use a concealer brush with this to get an even finish.

Opt for a light shimmer for a base on the eyelids, use an eyeshadow brush to shade from the sockets right up to the brow bone, starting at the inner eye. Take a darker shade from the same eyeshadow palette, HD Brows do a great one that has a range of colours in two different powder textures so can double up as brows too. Work from the outer corner of the eyes, building and blending as you go, an angled eye shadow brush may be easier to achieve this. Using a soft black Kajal add liner to the waterline and both the top and bottom lash lines, then smudge using a short rounded eye brush to get the desired effect. Blend over again with the darker eye shadow to finish off. Use a lash doubling mascara, Clinique have a great one to give dramatic length and volume to get that striking effect. To frame the face even further choose a brow colourfix from HD Brows, this silky brush on gel grooms and slicks brows into shape without flaking or stiffening hair.

Next use a hot pink watercolour crème blush for a pop of colour. This suits any skin tones from pale to summer tanned, naturally warm or very dark and blends well over foundation leaving a hint of flattering colour.

In the cold weather always ensure lips are well moisturised before applying lipsticks. Use a good lip butter to avoid cracking, and add a clear gloss over your lipsticks to maintain the moisture throughout the night. Inject some colour using a pink lipstick, MAC has a massive range to choose from, our favourite pick for this look in the range is Full Fuchsia, finishing off this bright party look. Perfect to end 2014 with a bang!

Let the celebrations begin!
See you in 2015!
