Training fun with Miss Elegant xx

A few days ago I had the pleasure of one to one training Miss Elegant from the Gemma Sutton Pro Team in the studio. xx

Miss Elegant is a reasonably new member of our Pro Team and to all the beautiful brides out there I must say that she is absolutely lovely!

Training to be the best we can be xx

Recently I’ve posted quite a lot about how we as a team, strive to be the very best makeup and hair stylists that we can be for our beautiful brides.

I thought having Miss Elegant join me today was the perfect opportunity to talk a little bit about how we train all our team members to become the best makeup and hair artists. We hold team get-togethers every 3 months to update the girls on the new looks and trends of the seasons and our favourite products of the moment - like Miss Sunshine's new Tom Ford Palette.

Miss Elegant is currently one of our Bronze hair and makeup artists, having joined a little over six months ago. She is now working towards our Silver Level, so she will be able to work with our brides.

Before Miss Elegant qualifies as a Gemma Sutton Silver Artist she will be assisting other artists on weddings or photo shoots.

Prior to Miss Elegant joined the team, Michelle and I looked through her past portfolio of work and had a chat over the phone. We then set a date for her to come into the Gemma Sutton studio for an interview where we could meet.

Part of the interview process Miss Elegant would give us a little demo of her hair and makeup skills.

It was a very easy decision to bring her on board, culturally Miss Elegant was a fantastic fit for us, she’s a very confident yet sweet & down to earth girl. We also saw a lot of potential in her skills as a makeup and hair stylist.

Miss Elegant's Gemma Sutton Journey xx

Over the last six months, Miss Elegant has been busy training with Gemma Sutton and the Pro Team, as well as getting some real experience in the makeup an hair world.

Miss Elegant has been dedicated in her pursuit of becoming the best bridal makeup and hair stylist she can be, so with the wedding season ramping up we thought we’d get her into the studio to demo some of our popular bridal makeup and hair styles.

We started with some makeup looks, that have are favourites of mine for this season. I showed Miss Elegant some little tricks and tips that will help her in the industry. We went though her kit together to make sure she has everything she may need for a big bridal party.

That afternoon we went through some hair styles, using different products and equipment that I feel are the perfect bridal styles for 2018.

I showed Miss Elegant some of my key tips in using real hair extensions. We went through how to set and curl the hair, creating the perfect half up half down style and a couple of popular up do's.

Miss Elegant is natural very creative and has been picking up everything I have been throwing at her so quickly during her training.
