A Valentines Day Vintage Glamour MU Look

It is that time of year again...
Valentines Day... I am sure we all express our love for the special man or woman in our day to day lives, as we should! But the 14th February is the one day of the year to remind us to really appreciate that special someone and a good excuse to go all out with the extravagant gestures, which is always good fun!

If you are lucky enough to be wined and dined or treated by your partner this weekend and want to try a new sexy make up look, we have a step by step of our favourite vintage glamour look for the most romantic day of the year, sure to blow your man away!

A great place to start with any look is a flawless base. We are going for a light dewy finish so I would opt for MAC’s mineral base foundation, apply with a good foundation brush, and keep building up as necessary - it has a light coverage so is very buildable. Another little favourite of ours is the Kabuki brush. This is a truly versatile multi purpose brush and can be used to apply powder or fluid foundation to create a flawless airbrushed finish. It couldn’t be easier to use, simply blend using gentle circular movements almost as if you are buffing the skin.

Add a natural blush to your cheeks, you are aiming to match the natural tone your cheeks are when flushed after exercise or you have been out in the cold. Opt for a colour to suit your skin tone, fair skin looks great in rose, olive in peach and dark skin in apricot or even red. Apply the blusher onto the apple of the cheekbone, ending at the hairline. Try Dior’s legendary blush that blends with the skin leaving only a weightless veil of pure colour. Always use a full blusher brush for an even natural application, tapping off any excess.

Moving onto the eyes we love a dark sultry eye with lots of defined lashes, especially for a romantic evening out. You want to start with a light shade to cover the whole lid up to your brow bone and then go for a darker along the lash line blending as you go. Buying an eyeshadow palette for this type of look is a great investment and can also be used for your eyebrows if you it contains matte shades as well as satin.

False lashes aren’t just for show girls anymore, they create such a striking look and there are so many out there now to choose from. We always opt to use individual lashes on all of our brides for a more natural look however they can be a little fiddly to apply yourself. There are also now plenty of strip lashes that are softer and more flexible that can be trimmed down to fit your lash line perfectly for a natural look and then the fuller for a very glamorous style. HD Brows have a range of three that cover the fuller to more subtle effect which are easy to apply yourself - After applying the glue use tweezers to fix faux set as close to the root of your own lashes as possible. Once dry a streak of black liner will conceal the line completely.

Eyebrows are such an important feature and completely frame the face, with the right shaping and a little filling in, your brows can really change the whole look of your face. We love these easy to use HD Brows products, Brow Colourfix to set and tint your brows for a quick fix or the eyebrow palettes which contain various shades along with a highlighter to enhance the brow bone and a wax to set or define the brows, again these can double up as eyeshadows.

Lips are one thing your man will focus on, so you want them looking voluptuous and kissable! Using a lipliner, follow the outer line of the lips and then fill in the entire lip area to help lipstick last longer. Try Daniel Sandlers Waterproof lipliner, Preservative and mineral oil-free it contains antioxidant Vitamins C and E to condition the lips. You could also opt for a gloss on top. The HD Brows lip glosses are lovely, lightly pigmented with a divine wet-shine finish, they are also enriched with moisturising emollients to visibly plump the lips. With a variety of 6 colours to choose from you can wear alone for a subtle look or over a favourite lipstick.

If you aren’t confident creating these looks yourself we do offer the ultimate Valentine’s gift, a sexy boudoir fashion photoshoot. We are giving you the opportunity to get in front of the camera all glammed up for some gorgeous sexy photographs with our professional photographer Wayne Kahn. He will make you feel totally at ease, offering advice for a variety of poses so you look like a natural! Before you get started, with a glass or two of bubbly in hand to help you relax and give you some dutch courage you will have your make up and hair styled by award winning Gemma Sutton with two looks of your choice. After the shoot you will be sent all the photos through and from these choose 6 to be fully retouched by Wayne. It is up to you what style of clothing you go for, it can be fashion based or more of a seductive boudoir shoot!
